The 34-credit Advanced Generalist program is for students who have earned a Council of Social Work Education-accredited BSW. Generalist program students must also complete these courses.
SW 8802 must be taken for a total of 8 credits.

The 51- to 54-credit Generalist program is for students without a Council of Social Work Education-accredited BSW. Students complete the 20 credits of Generalist courses below in addition to the Advanced Generalist coursework.

Advanced Generalist students who do not elect to complete an emphasis select 6 credits in consultation with their advisor to complete the 34-credit minimum. Advanced Generalist students completing the Child Welfare emphasis select at least 1 credit in consultation with their advisor.
Generalist students who do not elect to complete an emphasis select 3 credits in consultation with their advisor to complete a minimum of 51 credits.
