Online Psychology Major

Completion requirements

To apply for admission to the online major, students must have a completed Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), or Minnesota Transfer Curriculum, or courses equivalent to UMD Liberal Education requirements from an accredited institution, along with a 2.00 GPA. To be admitted to the online program, students must have passing grades in: general psychology; BIOL 1001, BIOL 1011, or a college-level course from an accredited institution titled General Biology, Human Biology, or Biology & Society; and college algebra or a Math ACT score of 21 or higher. Students may be currently enrolled in the above courses but must provide evidence that they have successfully completed them prior to starting in the program.

Learning in Community

The Learning in Community requirement will be waived for transfer students with at least 30 credits taken post-high school, and for UMD students who started in a UMD program where this was not required. First-year students who have completed 30 PSEO credits may request a waiver to the student's primary college.
