Description of other application requirements

Students with undergraduate degrees in fields other than computer science or related areas may be considered for admission if they have completed the following courses or their equivalents:
- CS 1612 - Introduction to Computer Science,
- CS 1622 - Object-Orientated Program and Design,
- CS 1632 - Introduction to Data Structure and Analysis,
- CS 2521 - Computer Organization and Architecture,
- MATH 3355 - Discrete Mathematics or CS 2531 - Discrete Structures for Computer Science,
- CS 3531 - Automata & Formal Languages;
and at least three of
- CS 4122 - Advanced Algorithms and Data Structures,
- CS 4212 - Computer Graphics,
- CS 4312 - Operating Systems,
- CS 4322 - Database Management Systems,
- CS 4332 - Computer Security,
- CS 4422 - Computer Networks,
The appropriate math prerequisites, namely
MATH 1296 - Calculus I and
STAT 3411 - Engineering Statistics or STAT 3611 - Introduction to Probability and Statistics, are also required.

Admission is for fall semester only.

This program does not accept requests for credit for prior learning experiences.

A new scoring scale has been introduced for the TOEFL exam. Minimum required scores on exams taken on or after January 21, 2026 are as follows:
Overall: 4.5
Reading: 4.5
Writing: 4.5
The exam date should be within two years of the program start date.
