Course description

This seminar, an exit requirement for all Art History majors, introduces major issues of method and critique in the study of art and visual culture. It focuses on understanding disciplinary and critical modes of scholarly inquiry in the visual arts, including the role of historical research. The course emphasizes intensive reading, discussion, and writing.
