Course description
Introduction to topology with motivating examples and counter-examples. Topics may include: bases, open and closed sets,
metric topologies, continuity, limits,
compactness, separability, quotients, fundamental group, and homology.
Assessments will focus on proof-based techniques.
MATH 3280 and MATH 3355 with a grade of C- or better, or graduate student, or consent of instructor; credit will not be
granted for both MATH 4250 and MATH 5250
