Course description

This course builds upon the conceptual and practical framework cultivated within MTAG 5110 - Principles of Tribal Sovereignty I. With emphases on Indigenous intellectual and cultural conceptions of sovereignty and governance, we ill consider why sovereignty endures as a cornerstone of Tribal governance and the various and varied things it means for Native nations. Through engagement with Indigenous scholarship, community voices, and one another, students will synthesize and develop their own accounts of what they see as the foremost principles of Tribal sovereignty.
